edMe Rio ELA

edMe Rio ELA connects students to the most engaging articles and videos related to the people, events and competitions in the Rio Olympics. Articles are most often paired with videos so that students can improve their information gathering skills in audio, visual, and text media. These are 21st Century skills that all students need to hone to be successful in school. We are giving the added benefit of using materials that children would naturally enjoy anyways!We are going to keep this app up to date throughout the entire Olympic games so there will consistently be new materials and new questions for students. The immediacy of this app keeps interest level high and ensures that the app is never boring.
We at edMe apps have truly enjoyed putting together the material so far (our personal favorites are the modern pentathlon and the idea of a "brutal" water polo foul!). We think your child will find this app immensely entertaining, and our hope is that it starts a family conversation based on the interesting information that your student will master while honing skills needed in the upcoming school year.
